Temporary ice rink closure update August 19, 2026 : We are pleased to share that repairs to the rink's refrigeration system have now been completed. The ice surface has been painted and is currently being flooded in preparation for reopening.

We expect the rink to reopen on Saturday, August 22. The public skating schedule will be posted on our website in the coming days.

August 4, 2026: Due to an unexpected mechanical issue affecting the refrigeration system, the ice rink is temporarily closed until further notice. All scheduled ice rink activities and rentals have been cancelled while the necessary repairs are completed. The Pro-shop is also closed at this time.

Please note that the rest of the Sports and Recreation Centre remains open to the public, and regular programming, including the pool, gymnasium, and classes, continues as usual.

Located within the new Montreal West Sports and Recreation Centre, the Steve and Rob Michelin Rink is a regulation-size rink featuring six locker rooms, including two oversized, fully accessible locker rooms designed to accommodate sledge hockey teams.

Open year-round, the rink hosts a wide range of activities offered in partnership with the CRA and other community organizations.

Public skating

Public skating is currently free of charge for both residents and non-residents and reservations are not required.

Helmets are mandatory for children under 12 years old and strongly recommended for all skaters.
Free skating aids are available for those learning to skate.
Additional public skating sessions will be added as the season progresses.

Pick-up hockey

Register on Amilia or in person at the front desk
Cost for pickup hockey: residents: free / non-residents: $5
Mandatory equipment: helmet, neck guard, full face mask, and gloves.

Free figure skating

Unlike public skating, this session provides dedicated space for spins, jumps, and program work, ideal for skaters looking to develop and refine their skills.
