Commemorative Trees and Benches

The Town of Montreal West Commemorative Tree and Bench Program offers residents a meaningful way to honour the memory of a loved one or celebrate a significant occasion, while contributing to the beautification of public spaces. By having a tree planted or a bench installed in a municipal park, families and friends can create a lasting tribute, personalized through the words engraved on a commemorative plaque.

These dedications become meaningful landmarks in our parks: they tell a story, preserve a memory, and offer a timeless legacy to the community and to future generations.

Contribute to beautifying the Town

Commemorative trees and benches add beauty, greenery, and usefulness to our recreational areas. They enhance the municipal parks enjoyed every day by many residents, while providing an opportunity to mark important life events such as a marriage, birth, death, graduation, anniversary, retirement, or any other meaningful occasion.

Coordinated by the Recreation Department, with maintenance provided by the Public Works Department, this program makes a tangible contribution to the greening and enhancement of Montreal West’s parks. It is a full-cost recovery initiative, and donations made to the program are tax deductible.

The cost of a commemorative tree is $250, which includes planting and maintenance. A commemorative plaque may be added for $100. For a commemorative bench, the fee is approximately $3,800, including the plaque and installation.
