The Town of Montreal West is partnering with the Montreal-based collective Les Fruits Défendus to harvest fruit from public fruit trees and reduce food waste.
We are looking for Montreal West residents to form a local community of volunteer fruit pickers. Volunteers will take part in fruit harvesting activities on public trees identified by the Town, after receiving training provided by Les Fruits Défendus (safe harvesting practices, respect for trees, and best practices).
Harvests will be shared according to the following model: 1/3 of the fruit for volunteers and 2/3 donated to food banks or community organizations.
No prior experience is required.
