The Town is thrilled to announce the partial opening of its new Sports and Recreation Centre, effective January 26, 2026!
As is typical with large construction projects, the new facility will open to the public in phases to ensure a smooth and safe launch of its operations. As part of the first phase, the skating rink, locker rooms, spectator stands, and washrooms will be accessible to participants in the evenings and on weekends. The building will remain closed to the public during the day while the contractor completes final adjustments in other areas of the facility.
The Town has made every effort to open the rink as early as possible, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy part of the winter season at their local facility. Rink schedules will be shared with participants by the Town or by the Civic Recreation Association (CRA), depending on the activity.
Public skating will begin on January 31 and will take place on both Saturdays and Sundays. The public skating schedule can be found on the Town’s website.
The full opening of the Sports and Recreation Centre is planned for the spring. Additional details on programming, schedules, and upcoming activities will be shared in the coming weeks.
