As part of a province-wide heritage inventory, employees from the firm Architecture 49 have been surveying and photographing buildings throughout the Town of Montreal West since Mid-June. This project, mandated by recent amendments to the Cultural Heritage Act, focuses on identifying buildings constructed before 1940 and will continue through mid-August.
While most photographs will be taken from the public domain (street, sidewalk, alley, etc.), access to private property may occasionally be required, for example to photograph a detached structure located at the back of the property that also predates 1940.
- No entry into buildings will be required.
- Photographs may be taken at close range to capture architectural details, but interiors will never be photographed.
- Final pictures will be retouched to blur any identifying details such as car license plates, windows and people.
We appreciate your cooperation.
