    Emergency siren test

    May 6 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am

    Lactalis Canada

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, Montréal will be TESTING the city’s emergency siren system. During this test, no actions need to be taken.

The factory closest to Montreal West is the Lactalis Canada plant on Saint-Jacques street. This siren will sound at 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The emergency siren sounds off for 3 minutes and is the best way to warn the population of the release of a toxic substance from a nearby factory. This is a technical test carried out to ensure the proper working order of equipment, as well as the preparedness of all emergency responders.

Take this opportunity to find out what to do when you hear the emergency siren.
