The annual $20 tree giveaway is back!

Category : Environment
February 17, 2026

This year, Montreal West residents may purchase a tree for a $20 administrative fee until March 6, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. A limited quantity of trees will be made available on a first come, first serve basis. Maximum of one tree per household.

The trees will be delivered in mid-May, an e-mail will be sent to let you know the exact date. The tree will be placed in front of your property on that day. Residents must plant the trees themselves on their property in Montreal West, and not elsewhere (for example at their cottage). Planting instructions will be provided. Please note that these trees cannot be planted on the municipal right-of-way, i.e. the space between the property line and the sidewalk.

We also invite you to share photos of your tree with the Town, along with updates on its health over the years. This valuable information will help us improve the selection of species offered in future editions.

The tree species being offered this year are indicated below. You will be asked to provide your second and third choice of species in the unlikely event that your first choice is not available.

How do I order a tree?

Trees can be ordered directly from Amilia. When you place your tree order, you will be able to pay for the tree by credit card in the online checkout. You will be required to create an Amilia account or log into your existing Amilia account with the Town. Alternatively, you may call the Environment division at 514-485-8599 to place an order.

Orders will be accepted until March 6 at 4:30 p.m. or until quantities have run out. Only payments by Visa or Mastercard will be accepted.
