The Town of Montreal West is currently accepting applications for the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC). The is a one-year mandate. The deadline to apply is August 30, 2026.
What is the Planning Advisory Committee?
The Planning Advisory Committee is an advisory committee composed of one councillor, six regular members and three alternate members. The Committee reviews planning and development applications and makes recommendations to Council on matters such as:
- Site Planning and Architectural Integration Programmes (SPAIP);
- Minor exemptions;
- Comprehensive development programmes;
- Proposed amendments to the Town’s urban planning, zoning, subdivision and construction by-laws; and
- Other planning, zoning and subdivision matters referred to it by Council.
Who can serve on the PAC?
Applicants must be residents of Montreal West.
The Town is seeking individuals who:
- demonstrate sound judgment and impartiality;
- are able to review meeting materials in advance;
- are willing to participate in respectful, objective discussions;
- have an interest in planning, architecture, heritage, urban design or the built environment.
Professional experience in planning, architecture, engineering or a related field is an asset, but is not required.
Committee members are expected to evaluate applications fairly and consistently, taking into account the Town’s planning framework, applicable by-laws, and the broader public interest.
The Committee meets one to two Wednesday evenings per month.
