The City of Montreal will be carrying out maintenance work on the water network from July 7 to 9. This work may cause yellowish, brownish, or reddish discolouration of tap water throughout Montreal West.
This temporary disturbance may occur at various times during the work and is usually short-lived.
What to do if your water is discoloured
- Turn on a cold-water tap, preferably the bathtub faucet or, if unavailable, the kitchen faucet. Commercial properties should use any available cold-water tap.
- Let the cold water run until it becomes clear. The water can then be consumed safely.
- If your faucet has an aerator, it is recommended to remove it before flushing the water.
Important: Make sure the water is completely clear before doing laundry or using any water-operated appliance to avoid staining fabrics or damaging equipment.
