{"id":78416,"date":"2024-06-17T13:31:05","date_gmt":"2024-06-17T17:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/montreal-west.ca\/?p=78416"},"modified":"2024-06-17T13:35:22","modified_gmt":"2024-06-17T17:35:22","slug":"heat-wave-warning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montreal-ouest.ca\/en\/heat-wave-warning\/","title":{"rendered":"Heat Wave Warning"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With the heatwave expected to begin tomorrow and continue until Thursday, we would like to remind residents to stay safe and cool with <a href=\"https:\/\/montreal.ca\/en\/articles\/tips-to-follow-during-heat-wave-5120#:~:text=Symptoms%20to%20watch%20for\">these tips<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drink plenty of water before you feel thirsty.<\/li>\n<li>Spend a few hours each day in an air-conditioned or cool location.<\/li>\n<li>Take a shower or bath or cool yourself with a wet towel.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce your physical efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Wear light-colored clothing.<\/li>\n<li>Keep in touch with your family and friends.<\/li>\n<li>Close windows, curtains, and blinds when the sun is at its peak.<\/li>\n<li>Use heat-generating appliances (stove, oven, dryer, television, lights, etc.) as little as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid consuming alcoholic, caffeinated, or very sugary drinks, as they can dehydrate you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Residents of all ages can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/montreal-west.ca\/en\/recreation\/facilities-parks\/splash-pads\/\">splash pads<\/a>, here are the schedules:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Davies Park: 7 a.m. &#8211; 8 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Strathearn Park: 7 a.m. &#8211; 10 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Rugby Park: 7 a.m. &#8211; 10 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The air-conditioned Music Room at Town Hall will be open to the public:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuesday: 10 a.m. &#8211; 4:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday: 12 p.m. &#8211; 4:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Thursday: 2 p.m. &#8211; 4:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stay cool, Montreal West!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the heatwave expected to begin tomorrow and continue until Thursday, we would like to remind residents to stay safe and cool with these tips: Drink plenty of water before you feel thirsty.
