{"id":36312,"date":"2021-08-28T22:32:48","date_gmt":"2021-08-29T02:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/montreal-west.ca\/?p=36312"},"modified":"2021-09-17T10:00:06","modified_gmt":"2021-09-17T14:00:06","slug":"public-consultation-august-30-postponed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montreal-ouest.ca\/en\/public-consultation-august-30-postponed\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Consultation August 30 &#8211; Postponed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"es-footer-body\">In a special meeting held on August 5, 2021, the Town Council approved two draft by-laws to modify the Planning Programme and the Zoning By-Law, respectively.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>The main changes entailed by these draft by-laws are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">Address the setback on properties adjacent to the main train tracks;<\/li>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">Allow for the possibility of residential development projects in some zones that are now zoned only commercial, industrial and public;<\/li>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">Allow for the possibility of Commercial Class1 uses in a zone that is now zoned only heavy commercial, light industrial and municipal and public;<\/li>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">Refresh the look of various plans (land-use designation map, density map and zoning plan) in the Planning Programme and Zoning By-law, to render their consultation easier;<\/li>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">Address lateral setback on detached garages located in the back yard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"es-footer-body\">The zones more specifically affected by the proposed modifications are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">CL-2 (Milton and Avon area)<\/li>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">L-3 (Ronald and Avon area)<\/li>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">IB-1 replaced by CL-5 (highway and Notre-Dame area)<\/li>\n<li class=\"es-footer-body\">PE-4 replaced by MA-6 (Strathearn North and Milner area).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"es-footer-body\">&nbsp;<br>The consultation process and its permitted modalities pertaining to urban planning by-law changes in this time of COVID-19 pandemic make it more difficult for the Town Council to interact easily with our residents.&nbsp; Given this fact, Council members would rather postpone this process until such time as it is possible once again to safely exchange and discuss views in person.&nbsp; The regular process is more convenient to this effect and should be preferred.
