{"id":25351,"date":"2020-07-24T12:48:36","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T16:48:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/montreal-west.ca\/?p=25351"},"modified":"2020-07-28T09:08:46","modified_gmt":"2020-07-28T13:08:46","slug":"heat-wave-stay-cool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montreal-ouest.ca\/en\/heat-wave-stay-cool\/","title":{"rendered":"Heat wave: tips for staying cool"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Town wishes to remind its residents of different opportunities to cool off during this heat wave.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Municipal pool<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The pool is open&nbsp;7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.&nbsp;The wading pool will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amilia.com\/store\/en\/ville-de-montreal-ouest\/shop\/programs\/calendar\/54444?view=mobileListView&amp;scrollToCalendar=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reserve your spot<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Splash pads<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Residents of all ages are welcome to cool off in one of our splash pads.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Davies Park<\/li>\n<li>Strathearn Park<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that a mechanical issue has delayed the opening of the splash pad at Rugby Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Preventive Measures:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Spend at least three (3) hours in a cool or air conditioned place;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Drink lots of water even if not thirsty;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Reduce physical efforts;<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Stay in contact with people you know;<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Take a shower or cool bath as often as needed or cool off with a damp cold cloth or spray;<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Protect yourself from the sun, wear light coloured clothing and a hat (especially for babies and toddlers);<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Keep blinds or curtains closed during the day;<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Increase air circulation in your home by opening cross windows;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">For more information on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebec.ca\/en\/health\/advice-and-prevention\/health-and-environment\/preventing-the-effects-of-oppressive-and-extreme-heat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s11\">preventing the effects of heat<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Keep cool!
