{"id":109128,"date":"2026-08-26T19:48:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/montreal-ouest.ca\/?p=109128"},"modified":"2026-08-26T19:58:32","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:58:32","slug":"bixi-bikes-have-arrived-in-montreal-west","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montreal-ouest.ca\/en\/bixi-bikes-have-arrived-in-montreal-west\/","title":{"rendered":"BIXI bikes have arrived in Montreal West!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Town of Montreal West is pleased to announce the arrival of the BIXI self-service bike network on its territory as part of a three-year pilot project.<\/p>\n<p>A fleet of 20 electric-assist bicycles will be available to residents at two stations located throughout key areas of the Town, helping make everyday travel more convenient.<\/p>\n<p>The stations are located in the following sites:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paula Cordeau Park, near the Montreal West Station<\/li>\n<li>Sports and Recreation Centre<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A third station at Rugby Park will be installed in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative marks an important step toward promoting active transportation and offering residents a sustainable, accessible, and practical way to get around.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe introduction of BIXI in Montreal West reflects our commitment to building a town where active transport is a simple, attractive and accessible option for everyone. By joining a growing network in the West End, we are providing residents with more choices for sustainable mobility options, while enhancing the overall quality of life in our community,\u201d<\/em> said Mayor Jonathan Cha.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMunicipalities play a key role in the development of our network. This expansion in Dollard-des-Ormeaux and Montreal West allows us to strengthen the network\u2019s connectivity and offer residents more options for their daily commutes. It reflects the growing demand for sustainable and flexible mobility solutions,\u201d <\/em>said Christian Vermette, General Manager of BIXI Montreal.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs the transportation planning authority, the ARTM works with its partners to better integrate the various transportation options for the benefit of users.
