This work will affect all municipalities supplied by the McTavish Reservoir, including the Town of Montreal West.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips for residents and businesses to reduce their water consumption\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Limit outdoor watering<\/li>\n<li>Collect rainwater in a rain barrel<\/li>\n<li>Use a pool cover to reduce evaporation<\/li>\n<li>Use a spray gun, a bucket and a sponge to wash your car<\/li>\n<li>Keep a pitcher of cold water in the fridge rather than letting the tap run<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the tap between uses, such as brushing teeth or washing dishes<\/li>\n<li>Comply with municipal by-laws\n<ul>\n<li>Using a garden hose to water your garden or grass is allowed from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. It is not permitted to water when it is raining outside or for more than 2 hours per 24 hour period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Following the agglomeration\u2019s recommendations, the Town will also be implementing measures to reduce its use of drinking water, such as:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Suspend preventive sewer line flushing and cleaning<\/li>\n<li>Suspend flow tests during fire hydrant inspections<\/li>\n<li>Suspend or limit certain activities, such as street washing and non-essential watering<\/li>\n<li>Promptly repair any leaks in the system to limit water loss<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Town of Montreal West will continue to follow this situation closely.
