It also aims to assure citizens that the sums incurred for the acquisition of goods and services are expended in conformity with municipal laws and principles of good administration.<\/p><p>This policy also aims to promote transparency throughout the process of awarding municipal contracts, respecting the rules relative to the adjudication of such contracts as determined by the laws governing the operation of municipal bodies.<\/p><h2>Code of Ethics<\/h2><p>Adopted in November 2012, the <a href=\"https:\/\/montreal-west.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2012-006-code-ethique-refondu.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Code of ethics and professional conduct for employees<\/a>:<\/p><ul><li>Gives priority to the municipality\u2019s\u00a0values;<\/li><li>Institutes standards of conduct that\u00a0foster the adoption of these values;<\/li><li>Prevents ethical conflicts and,\u00a0should any arise, resolve them\u00a0effectively and with good judgment;<\/li><li>Applies control measures to\u00a0breaches of ethics.<\/li><\/ul><h2>Council Meeting Decorum By-law<\/h2><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/montreal-west.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2016-023-conduct-of-council-sittings-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Council meeting decorum by-law<\/a> states certain basic principles concerning Council&#8217;s behaviour throughout Council meetings.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contract Management By-law\u00a0 In accordance with the Cities and Towns Act, the contract management by-law\u00a0governs the process for awarding contracts entered into by the Town that involve expenditures.
