While construction projects can cause temporary disruptions, every effort is made to minimize their impact. We appreciate your patience and understanding as these improvements are carried out to enhance the safety, efficiency, and long-term quality of our infrastructure.<\/p><h3>Your responsibilities<\/h3><p>For your safety and the safety of others, please follow all worksite instructions, including posted signage, fences, and barricades. Respect all temporary traffic changes, including detours and parking restrictions.<\/p><p>If you require direct access to your property during construction, such as for a move, delivery, or special transportation, please notify Public Works in advance.<\/p><p>For questions, comments, or concerns, please use the <a data-parent=\".penega-accordion\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"card-body\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Town of Montreal West is planning the reconstruction of Courtney Drive, between Ballantyne S. and the cul-de-sac as well as on the Town land between Ronald and Courtney.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Project scope<\/strong><\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-105772 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/montreal-ouest.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Courtney-work.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"315\" height=\"156\" \/>The reconstruction of Courtney Drive between Ballantyne S. and the cul-de-sac, as well as on the Town land between Ronald and Courtney, will include the following work:<\/p><ul><li>Reconstruction of foundation and road surface<\/li><li>Replacement of sidewalks<\/li><li>Replacement and rehabilitation of the sewer and the water main<\/li><\/ul><h2>Timeline<\/h2><ul><li>Work begins June 1, 2026<\/li><li>Duration: approximately 13 weeks<\/li><li>Project completion: end of August 2026<\/li><\/ul><p>Please note that timelines may change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.<\/p><p>Work will generally take place from Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some weekends or extended hours may occur if required.<\/p><h2>Project phases<\/h2><ol><li>Site mobilization and preparatory work<\/li><li>Installation and Avenue<\/h2><p><em>Work in progress<\/em><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>September 21, 2021: notice to residents of the area<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>A new gas leak occurred during the infrastructure work on Fenwick Street on September 21, 2021. \u00a0The safety protocol was immediately put in place by the Fire Department (SIM) and the leak was contained very quickly. All parties involved are working to ensure the safe completion of the project.<\/em><\/span><\/p><ul><li>Reconstruction of the sewer and water systems<\/li><li>Replacement of the roadbed, sidewalks, streetlights and fire hydrants<\/li><\/ul><p>Work began on July 6, 2021. Temporary water lines will be installed and connected to all affected homes. Excavation will begin after the temporary water lines are installed.<\/p><p>The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-October.<\/p><p>During this time, the street sections affected by the work will be closed to traffic, especially during the day.
